We left the medieval town of Nuremberg and cruised through the night to the medieval town of Regansburg.

It’s been a rough day and a half because the “ship” (they keep telling us not to call it a “boat” lost all heat in the common spaces. Making much of the “ship” feel as cold as the river we sat upon.

But Christmas is coming and there is goodwill in our cold little hearts.

Plus the shoreline is stunning.

And we are on the Danube for goodness sakes. And how could you be on the Danube and not have poetry in your soul?

It is a question for the ages: Is the Danube really blue?

Maybe not. The experts disagree. One thing is for certain, however….

Oh never mind.
